Step 1: Select the citation style your paper is using.
Step 2: Select the proper version of your selected style. If you are unsure select the most recent one (Ex: 5th Edition for APA, 6th Edition for MLA).
Step 3: Select the general category which the source you are citing falls under.
Step 4: Select the specific type of source you are citing.
Step 5: (Optional) If your source is online, electronic, or matches any of the other options displayed by the check boxes, select them now.

NOTE: If a checkbox is not working, it's because either your source type doesn't support it, or you have another one selected.

Step 6: Click the "Select" button.

The Citation Generator (or Citation Tool) is a powerful engine designed to create style-specific citations based on information that you give to it. After making a citation, you then have the opportunity to add it to your Citation Page, which can then be downloaded to your computer for printing.
