Q. Which citation formats does CC currently support?
A. As of August 10, 2006, CC supports version 6 of the MLA style and version 5 of the APA style of citation writing.
Q. How do I continue adding books/sources after I finish adding one?
A. After adding the citation to your citation page, click the "Start Over" button to begin the entire process over again.
Q. How do I get the citation to my Word document?
A. Once you have completed all of your citations for your paper, go to the blue area in the lower left corner and select the style you wish to print, then click the \ button to save or open the file in the word processor of your choice. The file is exported as an .RTF (Rich Text Format) file, which can be opened in just about any text-editing program.
Q. What should I do if I can’t find an author for a book or a Website?
A. In the case of a website, it not uncommon for you to not know the author. In this case just leave the boxes blank, and CC will format the citation accordingly.
Q. What is the website sponsor, and where can I find it on the website?
A. A website sponsor is a website, company, organization, etc., that supports a website either through providing funding, hosting, or some other vital service. For instance, when citing this page, one would list the website sponsor as ITM Inc. (www.ITMMedia.net), because ITM Inc. currently hosts and funds this website.
Q. What is the difference between the "date uploaded" and the "date accessed" under the website listings?
A. The date uploaded is the date on which the website was uploaded onto its domain/server. As for the date accessed, this is the date on which you viewed the page.
Q. How do I cite a Play?
A. If you are citing a play from some sort of text, then cite the play as you would cite that specific text. For example, if this play is from an anthology, use our anthology form. For example:

Shakespeare, William. "Romeo and Juliet." Norton's Anthology. Chicago: Hampton Publishers, 2004. 55-104. Similarly, if you are citing a play found from a website, use our website form to accurately cite the play.

Q. How do I cite a Poem?
A. There are no specific guidelines in MLA to cite a poem. Instead, cite the poem in the context in which you found it. For example, if you are citing a poem from a book, use the chapter of a book form to correctly cite the poem. If you are citing a poem from a website, fill out the appropriate fields of our website form.
Q. Where do I find the publisher of a book?
A. The Publisher is found usually on the second page of a book near the copyright information.
Q. Where do I find where the book was published?
A. The location of the publisher is found on the second page of the book, right after the name of the publisher.
Q. Where do I find the volume number of a periodical?
A. The volume number is found on the table of contents of the magazine or journal.
Q. What is the URL?
A. This is the address of the website, for example; http://www.citationcenter.net
Q. Where do I find the Program title of a specific episode of a television or radio show?
A. The title of a television show can be found by looking in the television guide or online. If you aren’t able to find the info there, check with the station that you viewed or heard the program on.
Q. Where do I find the Broadcast station of a television or radio show?
A. This is the station that you viewed or heard the program on.
Q. Where do I find the Publishing station of a television or radio show?
A. This is usually stated in the beginning or end credits of the episode. It is sometimes the same as the viewing or listening station but not always.
Q. Where do I find the Publishing Label of a CD?
A. The Label name is listed on the back cover of the CD case right by the copyright information.
